Archbishop McCarthy Wraps Up Successful 6-Week Summer Outreach Program

Southwest Ranches, FL — Archbishop McCarthy High School, in proud partnership with The Jordan Family Foundation, has concluded its annual Summer Outreach Program, a six-week camp serving underserved children from the nearby Dade and Broward County communities — all completely free of charge.

The program provided over 300 children with a safe, enriching, and fun-filled summer experience, blending athletics, academics, arts and crafts, and exciting field trips to local destinations including museums, bowling alleys, and movie theaters.

“This camp is about giving kids opportunity, encouragement, and joy during the summer months,” said Camp Director Chris Parker, whose leadership and energy made the program a daily highlight for the children. “Seeing their smiles each day is all the motivation we need.”

McCarthy Athletic Director Karen Frank played a key role in organizing sports and physical activities that built teamwork and confidence, while school administrator Steven Andersen ensured a structured and welcoming environment that reflected the school’s mission of service and excellence.

“The success of this program reflects our commitment to building community and providing opportunities to those who need it most,” said Andersen.

Funded in part and supported by The Jordan Family Foundation, the camp continues to grow each year in both reach and impact, demonstrating what’s possible when education and compassion come together.
