Archbishop McCarthy High School and Jordan Family Foundation Celebrate Grand Opening of 15,000-Square-Foot Indoor Athletic Center

Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School, in partnership with the Jordan Family Foundation, celebrated the grand opening of its new 15,000-square-foot indoor athletic training center on Thursday, May 15.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by John W. Jordan III, President of the Jordan Family Foundation and Richard Jean, President of Archbishop McCarthy High School. They were joined by local officials from Southwest Ranches, school administrators, current and former Jordan Scholars and members of the athletic department.

The state-of-the-art facility, measuring 30×50 yards, was built by Herman Construction and features professional-grade indoor turf provided by CSR. It was designed to support year-round athletic training while providing a safe environment for student-athletes, shielding them from South Florida’s extreme heat and frequent thunderstorms that often disrupt outdoor practices.

“This facility allows student-athletes to train consistently and safely, regardless of the weather,” said JW Jordan. “We’re proud to invest in a space that supports not just athletics, but student growth, teamwork, and discipline.”

The Jordan Family Foundation supports the school through its Jordan Scholars Program, which provides scholarships, mentorship, and additional resources for underserved students across South Florida. The program operates exclusively through Archbishop McCarthy High School and has impacted dozens of lives through both academic and athletic opportunities.

The new facility marks another milestone in the Foundation’s mission to uplift students through access, opportunity, and support.
